Undercart

Dinner, on a
number you set.

Tell Undercart what you can spend on dinners this week. It plans seven of them, prices the whole shop at the store you actually walk into, and then checks itself against your receipt.

Chicken and eggs move weekly. We would rather widen than lie.

The week

Seven dinners, each with its own figure.

Every price came off a shelf we read at your store. A night that reuses another night's food says so, and is charged once rather than twice.

The part nobody else does

It tells you when it was wrong.

Every meal planner shows a plausible figure and never mentions it again. Undercart keeps the record, and the weeks it missed sit on the same screen as the weeks it made.

A price you are shown was read at a real store on a date we can name, or it is a range with both ends on screen. There is no third kind. When a price cannot be read, the app says which store and which items rather than filling the gap.

How it works

Four things, once a week.

01

You set the number

One figure for the week's dinners, then who eats, what you will not eat, and how long you have on a weeknight.

02

The list arrives

On the morning you shop, priced at shelf prices we read at your store that week.

03

You shop and cook

Cook mode shows one step at a time, with only that step's quantities and a timer where a step waits.

04

We check ourselves

Photograph the receipt. Undercart reads it line by line and shows what it got right and what it got wrong.

Price

One subscription, two people.

Works out at $5.00 a month

A partner joins free with a six character code and gets the same week, the same list and the same ticks on their own phone.

We charge money so we never have to make it any other way. Undercart sells no shopping habits, takes nothing from retailers, and shows no offers. What you pay for is the arithmetic and the proof.

What it is not

One opinion about food: what it costs.

  • Not a diet app. It never scores a meal or comments on what you eat.
  • Not a recipe library. Recipes exist to make the week cookable inside its budget.
  • Not a coupon or loyalty product. Your shopping is not for sale.
  • Not gamified. Three notifications exist, and it never nags.
